Photos: Major Accident in Yerevan; Gas Leak Reported
On February 21, at 22:07, a call was received at the National Crisis Management Center regarding a road accident at the intersection of Sebastia and Tichina streets in Yerevan; a gas leak is present, according to reports from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) rescue service.
A firefighting team from the MES Yerevan Rescue Department was dispatched to the scene. It was found that vehicles involved in the accident included a Nissan Rogue (driver: Kh. Kh., born 1978), a Renault Logan (driver: V. A., born 1971), and a Mitsubishi Chariot (driver: H. S., born 1976). As a result of the collision, the Nissan Rogue went off the roadway and crashed into a gas pipeline, causing a gas leak.
Rescue personnel de-energized the vehicles, closed the gas tank valve of the Renault Logan, secured the area, and maintained vigilance until gas service employees arrived to stop the gas leak.
