Video: One of the Attempts to Assassinate Ararat Mirzoyan Arrested – NSS

The National Security Service of Armenia continues the investigation into the criminal case that was initiated regarding the mass riots that occurred on November 10, 2020, involving violence, destruction of property, and armed resistance against representatives of the government in various state and public locations, including the buildings of the Armenian government and the National Assembly.

According to the NSS, as a result of extensive investigative actions and operational measures carried out by the NSS, it has been established that one of those who attempted to assassinate the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, during the mass riots has been arrested.

Specifically, T.A. joined the mass riots on November 10, 2020, after learning that riots were taking place near the government and National Assembly buildings in Yerevan. He went to the intersection of Demirchyan and Proshyan streets, where he saw Ararat Mirzoyan stuck in traffic and joined the rioters attacking him. With the intent to kill, T.A. delivered kicks to Mirzoyan’s head and various parts of his body, resulting in multiple fractures of the facial bone and other injuries, causing Mirzoyan to lose consciousness.

However, T.A.'s intentions were thwarted due to the intervention of NSS officers who ensured Mirzoyan's safety, allowing him to be transported to the Erebuni Medical Center for appropriate medical treatment.

A public criminal prosecution has been initiated against T.A. under the appropriate articles of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and a petition has been submitted to the court for his detention for two months, which has been granted.

The criminal proceedings are continuing with extensive operational, investigative, and other procedural actions aimed at uncovering the full picture of the crimes committed, identifying other individuals involved, and ensuring the principle of unavoidable criminal responsibility.
