Seismologist Predicts Earthquakes in Turkey Warns of Impending Danger to Neighboring Countries

Turkish seismologist Nağı Gürüyür, who predicted earthquakes on February 6, has warned of the risk of new powerful earthquakes in Cyprus and the Turkish provinces of Bingöl and Adana.

Back in April 2022, the Turkish seismologist, a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, accurately forecasted the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred in southeast Turkey on February 6 with several kilometers of precision.

According to the scientist, during an earthquake, energy is released at one end of a fracture, and part of that energy is transmitted to the other end. “After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, we warned about the possibility of earthquakes in Adana and Hatay. In Bingöl province, except for the neighborhoods of Karlıova and Goynuk, the energy of the Eastern Anatolia fault line has already been released. I expect the Adana earthquake; if it occurs, a significant part of the energy will be released, and the fault will 'go quiet,'” Gürüyür told TGRT.
