Moscow Was Ready for Dialogue with the West but Received a Hypocritical Response: Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a message to the Federal Assembly that Moscow was ready for constructive dialogue with the West, but in response received vague or hypocritical reactions.
"They started the war, while we are using force to end it. In December 2021, we officially sent proposals for security guarantees to NATO, but received outright rejections on all points. Then it became clear that they had given up on stopping the aggression. The threat was increasing day by day," Putin said.
According to the Russian president, the West has spent around 150 billion US dollars to support and arm the regime in Ukraine.
"At the Munich conference, endless accusations against Russia were voiced. And they did this only so that everyone would forget what the West has done in the last decade; they are the ones who have released the genie from the bottle, plunging entire regions into chaos. As a result of the wars unleashed by the United States in 2001, 900,000 people have died, and 38 million have become refugees," Vladimir Putin stated.
