Anna Vardapetyan to Return to the National Assembly
The newspaper "Jirair" reports that Armenia's Attorney General Anna Vardapetyan will return to the National Assembly by April 1 of this year. Specifically, she is expected to present a report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia for the previous year.
In any case, this is stipulated by Article 1828 of the "National Assembly Regulations" law: "The Attorney General shall present a report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia for the previous year to the National Assembly each year by April 1. The report is discussed in the National Assembly session in accordance with the procedure established by part 3 of Article 126 of the Regulations, presented by the Attorney General."
The law states that this issue is discussed in the National Assembly in the following manner: "The authorized official presenting the issue delivers a main report lasting up to 30 minutes, after which they may be asked questions; there is no accompanying report, unless otherwise provided by the Regulations or a decision of the National Assembly; an exchange of views follows; and concluding speeches of about fifteen minutes are delivered in the same order by the accompanying and main reporters."
However, it is interesting to note that Anna Vardapetyan will primarily present the work done by the previous prosecutor, Artur Davtyan, in her report, as Vardapetyan assumed her position in September. It will be intriguing to see how the representatives of the My Step Alliance will behave, whether they will criticize or continue to express admiration for Artur Davtyan's activities.
