Six Soldiers Killed in Bunker Fire, Russian Defense Ministry Reports

Today, six soldiers were killed in the Kursk region due to a gross violation of regulations concerning the handling of flammable materials. This information is reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“On February 20, during the handling of flammable materials by servicemen of a unit stationed in the Kursk region of the Western Military District, a fire involving flammable liquid occurred in the bunker due to gross violations of safety requirements. As a result of the fire that spread in the bunker, six servicemen lost their lives,” the statement reads.

The ministry has noted that an investigation is being conducted by law enforcement authorities and a commission from the Western Military District.
