The Basis of the Former NSS Official's Case Has Changed 5 Times: "Zhoghovurd"

«Zhoghovurd» newspaper reports that a notable situation has arisen in the case of Serob Harutyunyan, the former head of the law enforcement service and oversight department of the NSS counterintelligence division regarding his illegally acquired property.

The newspaper has learned that the Prosecutor General's Office has already changed the basis and subject of the lawsuit in court 5 times. This indicates uncertainty about what exactly the former NSS official is wanted for.

It is noteworthy that the first case handled by the department for the confiscation of illegally acquired property established in 2020 by the Prosecutor General's Office was that of Serob Harutyunyan, which was concluded and sent to court, where it is now falling apart.

It should be noted that the campaign against Harutyunyan began when the former official, who led the NSS counterintelligence division's law enforcement service and oversight department in 2020, allegedly leaked information about Suren Papikyan's personal life, which is considered confidential. It was reported in the media that the current Minister of Defense Papikyan had beaten a soldier during his service and was convicted.

The Special Investigation Service has charged Harutyunyan with illegally collecting, storing, and disseminating non-public information.

According to law enforcement, the colonel checked and obtained information regarding Suren Papikyan's conviction from the police information center's database without any indication or basis.
