An earthquake has occurred in the waters of Lake Baikal with a magnitude of 5.9, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Irkutsk region.

The earthquake was recorded at 10:35 local time (06:35 Yerevan time). The epicenter of the tremors was located 18 kilometers away from the village of Bolshoye Golustnoye. The intensity of the earthquake in Irkutsk was 3 on the Richter scale.
