Avalanche Death Toll Reaches 15 in Tajikistan

The number of fatalities due to an avalanche in Tajikistan has reached 15, according to TASS. The information has been reported by the press center of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the government of the republic.

“As of February 15, the death toll from the avalanche in different regions of the republic has reached 15,” the press center stated.

A spokesperson indicated that 14 people were killed in the city of Khorog and the Vanj district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, while one more person died on the 65th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Varzob highway.
