Soldier Wounded in Shoulder Area: Criminal Proceedings Initiated

Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident on February 14, when a conscript soldier of the Armed Forces of Armenia sustained a gunshot wound at a combat outpost as a result of fire from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, reported Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, in a post on his Facebook page.

“As a result of the shot fired by an Azerbaijani soldier, conscript soldier D.P., who was on combat duty at the same outpost, received a gunshot penetrating wound to the left shoulder,” he wrote.

The Azerbaijani soldier fired with the intent to kill, motivated by national, ethnic origin, hatred, intolerance, or animosity towards the Armed Forces of Armenia.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 44-155, Part 2, Points 1 and 15 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (with signs of murder).

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defense reported that on February 14, around 18:05, preliminary data indicated that soldier D.P. from military unit N of the Ministry of Defense was wounded by gunfire from the enemy in the direction of Norabaki.
