Armenia Sends Second Humanitarian Aid Shipment to Turkey

Armenia has sent a second shipment of humanitarian aid to Turkey. The information was reported by the spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahan Hunanyan.

“Armenia continues to send humanitarian assistance to the earthquake-affected regions. Last night, trucks with the second batch of humanitarian aid crossed the Armenian-Turkish border through the Margarar Bridge,” he wrote on Twitter.

Armenia had sent the first batch of humanitarian aid to Turkey on February 11. During discussions with Armenia, Turkish representative Serdar Kılıç noted that the Armenian side had sent 100 tons of assistance to Adiyaman.

Recall that on February 6, at 05:17, an earthquake occurred in the Kahramanmaraş province of Turkey, causing destruction in several cities. Two strong aftershocks were recorded at 14:24 and 14:36 Yerevan time. The magnitude of the underground tremors in the epicentral area was rated at 10-11 points.

The number of casualties from the earthquake in Turkey has reached 35,418.

It is noteworthy that Ararat Mirzoyan will travel to Turkey today, where he will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia will also meet with the Armenian rescue team conducting search and rescue operations in the earthquake-affected city of Adiyaman.
