Erdogan Announces Timeline for Ending Search Operations After Earthquake
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while discussing the deadlines for the completion of rescue operations following earthquakes in the country, promised that they would continue until the last survivor is pulled from the rubble, as reported by РИА Новости.
“We will exert efforts until we retrieve the last citizen from the debris,” said the Turkish leader.
Additionally, the head of state noted that families of the victims from the natural disaster would receive 100,000 lira.
On February 6, the most powerful earthquake in 80 years, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, struck southeastern Turkey. Seismic variations were felt in numerous cities across the country, including Kayseri, Adana, and Mersin. Earlier reports indicated that the death toll from the earthquake in Turkey has surpassed 35,000.
