Washington and Brussels, Ignoring That Armenia is a CSTO Member, Try to Impose Their Security Model, Says Sidorov

The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Anatoly Sidorov, stated at a press conference that NATO's offensive infrastructure advancement remains a focus, even reaching the western borders of Belarus and Russia, alongside the growing military activity against the backdrop of aggressive rhetoric from the Baltic states and the Ukrainian crisis.

“In this context, the attempts of individual countries to strengthen their positions in the Caucasus, gain access to Caspian resources, and have a direct exit to Central Asia, considering the high conflict potential at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, contribute to the escalation of the crisis in the Collective Security region of the Caucasus,” Sidorov remarked.

According to him, the conflict potential in the Collective Security region of the Caucasus continues to deepen, primarily due to the unresolved territorial issues between individual states. “Russia plays a stabilizing role in the region. At the same time, Washington and Brussels, even ignoring that Armenia is a CSTO member, attempt to impose their security model and neutralize the Organization's efforts in this direction,” emphasized the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff.
