Over 1000 Armenian Trucks Stacked at Upper Lars

More than 1000 Armenian trucks are waiting at Upper Lars for the resumption of traffic from Georgia to Russia and vice versa. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by Vahan Hakobyan, the customs attaché at the Armenian Embassy in Russia.

Since February 5, the road has been closed for trucks, while traffic for light passenger cars was restored on the evening of February 9.

"The border remains closed for trucks, but there are talks that it may open in the second half of the day, provided there are no unexpected weather conditions. Currently, about 400-500 trucks have left Armenia but have not yet crossed into Russia. According to the Russian customs data, there are about 500-600 Armenian trucks in line on the Russian side, headed for Armenia," Hakobyan stated.
