Numerous Buildings Collapse in Turkey Due to Earthquake: Details

The Turkish Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum, has provided the latest data regarding the destruction caused by the earthquake, reports Ermenihaber.am.

According to his statements, a total of 12,141 buildings and 66,058 individual structures have been recorded as damaged or collapsed in Turkey. The Turkish Statistical Institute has reported that in 8 out of the 10 provinces affected, at least half of the buildings were constructed after 2001. Despite this fact, the damage is reaching staggering levels.
