VIDEO: Unknown Person Detonates Bomb During Prayer in Mosque in Pakistan
More than 19 people have died and 70 others have been injured due to an explosion at a mosque in the city of Peshawar, near the Afghan border, reports Geo-Ti-V television.
Emergency has been declared in the city’s hospitals. Over 70 injured individuals have been transferred to the Lady Reading Medical Institution, including 25 police officers among the victims.
It is believed that the explosion near the Afghan border was carried out by a suicide bomber. According to media reports, the mosque is located next to a local police station.
Security personnel stated that the attacker was in the front row, and the explosion occurred during prayer time when the bomb was detonated. The identity of any individuals possibly connected to the incident has yet to be determined. There is also no information on whether the attacker had accomplices.
