Man Stabs Priest to Death and Injures Parishioners in Spain
A man armed with a machete attacked two church officials and parishioners in Algeciras, Spain, according to El Pais.
The assailant entered the San Isidro church, located in the city center, and started arguing with the parishioners present, insisting that they should convert to Islam. After the altercation, he left the building but soon returned with the machete and attacked the priest.
Later, the man went to La Palma church, which is located 200 meters away from the previous site. There, he began threatening the parishioners and subsequently attacked the priest who tried to stop him. As a result, the priest was killed and three others were injured.
The police arrested the perpetrator, identified as 25-year-old Yassin Kanjaan from Morocco. The motives behind the incident have yet to be determined.
