Participants of a protest against pension reforms in Paris set fire to trash bins and detonated firecrackers. During the demonstration, protesters broke a bank's window and an ATM, and threw glass bottles at the police.

The police have detained three individuals, from whom prohibited items were confiscated.

French trade unions have been holding mass protests since January 19 against pension reforms that aim to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.

Police and gendarmes have mobilized 10,000 employees, with 3,500 law enforcement officers on patrol in the capital alone.
