The 53rd Session of the World Economic Forum Kicks Off in Davos
The 53rd session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) has officially opened in Davos, Switzerland. The event was broadcasted on the WEF website.
During the opening of the meeting, WEF founder Klaus Schwab addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of the forum as a platform for engaging with stakeholders. Several cultural figures were also awarded Crystal Prizes.
The WEF will operate until January 20. The slogan for the 2023 forum is "Cooperation in a Fragmented World." According to organizers, this year’s Davos gathering will see a record number of attendees, with more than 2,700 participants expected.
As previously reported, Russian and Chinese delegations are participating in the forum. Earlier on the WEF website, ahead of the opening in Davos, it was indicated that more than half of WEF's chief economists had warned of a high probability of recession in Europe for 2023.
