Europe to Adopt Tenth Sanctions Package Against Russia
The European Union is set to introduce the tenth package of sanctions against Russia, announced Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. This was reported by Kp.ru.
In an interview with a CNN correspondent, the EU leader clarified that the new package will primarily aim to "close loopholes and put an end to circumventing sanctions."
"This will have significant consequences for those who evade EU sanctions," warned the European official.
It is worth noting that it was previously announced that the tenth sanctions package against Russia should be prepared by the end of February 2023. It may include further restrictions on Russian media and more bank disconnections from the SWIFT system.
Poland and Lithuania plan to address restrictions on Russia's nuclear sector and halt diamond trade. According to European diplomats, additional sanctions should also be applied against Belarus.
