Special Prosecutor to Handle Biden's Secret Documents Case

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents. This role has been entrusted to Robert Hur, as announced to reporters by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“The document authorizes him to investigate whether any individual or entity in this matter has violated the law,” Garland stated.

He further clarified that the Department of Justice will not be continuously overseeing the special prosecutor's work. Hur will operate independently but will still be subject to the department's regulations, procedures, and principles.
