VIDEO: "Let’s Be Correct, We Shouldn’t Compare Business to a Cash Cow" – Pashinyan to Kerobyan
The government of Armenia is simplifying the production and export of alcoholic beverages. Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan announced that the amendments to the law will specifically relate to beer, cider and fruit wines, liquors, and other beverages with up to 9% alcohol content, as well as economic operators involved in the import of up to 100,000 liters of bottled cognac.
“The elimination of licensing or notification in these areas will allow companies or entrepreneurs to more easily enter the market and free themselves from unnecessary paperwork. In our view, it is excessive, as we are, in fact, working more with papers than we are actually conducting inspections,” said Kerobyan.
“In conclusion, dear colleagues, I want to say that the business environment is intangible, but in our view, it is a cash cow that gives us milk,” Kerobyan concluded.
Prime Minister Pashinyan responded, saying, “Our business environment resembles a nurturing mother more than a cash cow. Let’s be correct in our expressions regarding our taxpayers, and let’s not compare business to a cash cow.”
