Residents of Artsakh Urged to Avoid Anti-Russian Actions
The members of the National Assembly of Artsakh, Arthur Harutyunyan, David Melikyan, and adviser to the Prime Minister Grigor Martirosyan, visited several villages in the Martakert region and met with local residents.
“It is very important that we maintain internal solidarity in the current situation. We have a certain stock of food, but the population must approach this with understanding and use it sparingly, as it is still unclear how long the blockade will continue. In the upcoming spring sowing season, we will have additional supplies for certain crops. Regarding food security, there are certainly products that are lacking, but there are also types of goods that we will have and will be sufficient for a long time,” said Arthur Harutyunyan.
He noted that since December 12, the deputies have had four official and unofficial meetings with the command of the peacekeeping forces, presenting the official position of Stepanakert. “Of course, we understand that they are trying to solve issues in this way in order not to create unnecessary tension, but I believe that over time, more decisive actions will be needed, as the blockade can turn into a humanitarian disaster,” Harutyunyan said.
During their meetings, the deputies urged residents to refrain from anti-Russian actions, whether in the form of protests or posts on social media. The primary concern for the residents is security; they are prepared to take up arms if necessary. “Relying on others is a mistake. We must be able to take care of ourselves; who else will look after us? The fact that the Russians are here is significant; we must unite with them, our primary ally is the Russians; they must provide us with support so that we can stand against challenges,” said Misha Davtyan, a resident of Poghosagom.
