Russian Peacekeepers Express Willingness to Meet with Artsakh Residents
A large number of Artsakh residents have marched from Stepanakert to the airport to demand a meeting with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces, Andrei Volkov, as well as the implementation of the provisions of the November 9, 2020 statement.
According to a report by Armenpress, Tigran Petrosyan, one of the organizers of the protest, stated in a press briefing that the march demonstrates their determination to fight for their rights. “Our people have stayed in Artsakh with their families and children according to that statement. Now, in fact, those provisions are being violated. That is why we have come here to say that we are also humans, a people, and we have rights. This action concerns not only Russia but also the entire civilized world. Every state that considers itself democratic should immediately take measures and explain to Aliyev that this is not how people should be treated. All this will bounce back on you like a boomerang,” Petrosyan emphasized.
The participants of the action conveyed their demand to meet with Andrei Volkov at a checkpoint of the peacekeeping forces, after which the peacekeepers announced that they agreed to meet with the representatives of the protest.
