We Are Now the City with the Highest Density of Pomelos: A Journalist on Stepanakert
“In Stepanakert, the fruit is finished; there are only a couple of loquats and a lot of pomelos left. In front of every fruit store, there are about 100-200 pieces, and no one is buying. We are currently the city with the highest density of pomelos per square kilometer. And for the past week, I have been tormented by one of the hardest questions of my life: why are the people of Artsakh so uniformly ignoring the pomelo?” wrote journalist Suren Stepanyan on his Facebook page.
It should be recalled that since December 12, Artsakh has been under complete blockade. More than 120,000 people, including about 30,000 children, find themselves in a dire situation, entirely deprived of free movement and numerous vital opportunities associated with it. Once again, Azerbaijan's military-political leadership is grossly violating the norms of international law and the obligations it took on under the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
