Armenians in Greece Organize Protest Against the Blockade of Artsakh
On December 21, a popular protest rally was held in Athens, in front of the headquarters of the European Council (near the Greek Parliament), against the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan.
Participants of the protest demanded immediate intervention from European bodies to reopen the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor that connects Artsakh and Armenia, as well as to establish a framework to protect the indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh from Azerbaijani genocidal acts. A written request outlining the demands of the Greek Armenian community for the European Union's intervention was submitted to the delegation of the European Council.
As a symbolic call to save the people of Artsakh, the protesters shone lights to spell out the word "SOS."
