I Urge Everyone to Help as Much as They Can: Levon Aronian
Grandmaster Levon Aronian has made a post on his Facebook page regarding Azerbaijan's blockade of Artsakh.
"At this moment, when the whole world is preparing for the winter holidays, 120,000 Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh have been under blockade for more than ten days. They are under existential threat from Azerbaijanis, who are using various illegal methods to block the only road connecting Stepanakert to Armenia. Armenia suffered devastating losses during the 44-day war in 2020. The peace agreement signed by Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia stated that the road would remain open and serve all countries in the region. Right now, Azerbaijan's 'environmental activists,' who have closed the road under various false pretenses, are mocking Russian peacekeepers.
As we watch various organizations condemn these provocative actions of Azerbaijani officials, time is passing, children cannot return home, hospitals are battling a decline in supplies, and food shortages are imminent.
I urge everyone to help my homeland as much as they can by spreading the message and finding ways to assist those in great need," Aronian wrote.
