International Community's Pressure on Azerbaijan Increased: Ruben Rubinyan

The UN Security Council meeting was very successful, and I view it positively. All countries called on Azerbaijan to cease its illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and to adhere to the point in the November 9 trilateral statement that ensures uninterrupted communication between Artsakh and Armenia through the Lachin Corridor,” stated Ruben Rubinyan, Vice President of the National Assembly, in a conversation with reporters.

He also announced that, according to his information, the UN Security Council is currently discussing the issuance of a press release regarding the session.

“The Security Council meeting made it clear that international pressure on Azerbaijan has increased, and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is being internationalized once again. This is the result of Azerbaijan's illegal actions. Representatives from all countries at the UN Security Council meeting referred to Nagorno-Karabakh, emphasizing the importance of the November 9 statement,” Rubinyan said.

Regarding the thesis that Russia has closed the Lachin Corridor, the Vice President of the National Assembly stated that this is an Azerbaijani propaganda myth. “This, of course, does not correspond to reality. The Lachin Corridor has been illegally blocked by Azerbaijanis. We must try to increase international pressure on Azerbaijan as much as possible. I believe it became clear from yesterday’s UN Security Council meeting that this pressure has indeed increased and is continuing to grow,” Rubinyan noted.
