Azerbaijan Blames Russia Openly on the Lachin Corridor, Which Does Not Correspond to Reality: Rubinyan
At yesterday's UN Security Council meeting, representatives from all countries stated that the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor must cease, which I view very positively. This was conveyed by Ruben Rubinyan, the Vice President of the National Assembly, during a press briefing concerning the session on the Lachin corridor's blockade.
“Countries called on Azerbaijan to adhere to the provisions of the November 9 statement, which stipulates that the Lachin corridor should ensure uninterrupted communication between Armenia and Artsakh. At the beginning of the Security Council meeting, it was mentioned that a draft press release is under discussion, and according to my information, it is currently in the discussion phase. Azerbaijan refers to Russia when it claims that third countries have closed the road, which is a false propaganda thesis used across various platforms. Specifically, this was mentioned in the UN Security Council, which is perhaps why they did not directly say that they blame Russia, but on other platforms, they openly do. This, of course, does not correspond to reality,” said Rubinyan.
He emphasized the need to strengthen international pressure on Azerbaijan as much as possible. “From yesterday's meeting, I think it became evident that international pressure has indeed increased, as the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is being internationalized once again, which is the result of Azerbaijan's illegal actions. Yesterday, all representatives used the name 'Nagorno-Karabakh' contrary to Azerbaijan, and everyone noted the importance of the November 9 statement,” Rubinyan pointed out.
