Armenian Defense Ministry Delegation Participates in NATO International Conference
From December 8 to 9, a delegation led by the Secretary General of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Hamlet Batikyan, participated in the NATO international conference titled "The Role of Armed Forces in Fostering Integrity in the Protection of Democratic Values and Strengthening Societal and Institutional Resilience" held in Brussels. This information was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
Participants of the conference included leaders from defense departments of NATO member and partner countries responsible for strengthening integrity, combating corruption, and protecting human rights, as well as representatives of international organizations and leading think tanks. The best practices for enhancing integrity in the armed forces, existing issues, and systemic approaches to their resolution were presented and discussed.
In Brussels, Secretary General Hamlet Batikyan also held bilateral meetings with the leadership of NATO's integrity-building program. Agreements were reached to enhance joint projects, and the list of events for the upcoming year was reaffirmed. The Secretary General invited the program leadership and experts to Armenia to provide necessary on-site advisory support regarding identifying and mitigating risks in personnel management, financial planning, auditing, and procurement systems.
