Azerbaijani Checkpoint Placement in Corridor Connecting Artsakh and Armenia is False, Artsakh NSS Clarifies
Reports about the placement of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia are false. This was announced by the Artsakh National Security Service (NSS).
“Today, a mass of media and social networks disseminated an interview with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, Andrey Volkov, based on which it was concluded that an Azerbaijani checkpoint would be established in the corridor connecting Artsakh with Armenia. A discussion on this matter was organized with A. Volkov by the National Security Service of the Artsakh Republic, during which he stated that there would be no checkpoint in the corridor, it would not be controlled by Azerbaijanis, and there would be no Azerbaijanis in the areas where the peacekeepers are stationed in the corridor,” the NSS reported.
According to Volkov, only technical monitoring devices are planned to be installed to facilitate the work of the peacekeepers. The leadership of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh will also make a relevant statement about the above-mentioned issue in the near future.
