Attempts to Dissolve the CSTO Will Continue, Says Peskov
Russia does not take lightly the decision of the European Parliament to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsoring terrorism. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the President of Russia, in an interview for the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin."
Peskov also commented on the CSTO, mentioning that attempts to dissolve the organization will continue, but emphasized that the CSTO remains in demand and has demonstrated its effectiveness.
Regarding relations with Turkey, Peskov noted: "There are disagreements with Turkey on the Syrian issue. Earlier, in the Sochi negotiations, it was possible to resolve such disagreements, and a corresponding document was signed. After that, we heard President Erdogan's statements, as well as statements from our representatives, indicating that we are also dissatisfied with how Turkey is fulfilling its obligations," Peskov explained.
The press secretary of the Russian president also added that the level of Russia-Turkey relations provides an opportunity to resolve existing disagreements surrounding Syria through negotiations.
