Pentagon: Deepening Military Cooperation with Moscow and Beijing is Undesirable
The U.S. believes that it is normal for other countries to maintain relations with China, but deepening military ties is undesirable. This was reported by RT.
“In my opinion, it is normal for other nations to have relations with Beijing. However, I would caution that those military relations should not deepen too much, as I believe the risks are excessively high, while the rewards are negligible,” said U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Political Affairs Colin Cole during a discussion at the Manama Dialogue platform.
He made the same assessment when discussing Russia, stating, “From a security standpoint, the advantages of relations with Beijing and Moscow are limited,” Cole remarked. At the end of August, the White House expressed concern about the participation of other countries in joint military exercises with Russia, specifically the 'Vostok-2022' drills.
