Iran Also Establishes Economic Presence in Kapan: "Hraparak"
According to the newspaper "Hraparak," the Iranian side shows interest in all sectors in Syunik. In addition to opening a consulate in Kapan, Iran is also trying to ensure an economic presence. Specifically, according to reports, a long-term lease agreement has been signed with the owner of the Kapan market, and the Kapan household goods store has also been rented.
In Kapan, everyone knows that the owner of the household goods store is Edik Barseghyan, known as Londik, who is originally from Goris and has served as the governor of Syunik. However, yesterday, Barseghyan told us that he has nothing to do with the household goods store building and has never owned it. When we inquired about the rental agreement with the Iranians, he began to deny that such a thing exists. He mentioned that he spoke with the "owner" Sasun two months ago, stating, "I think he was doing renovations." If it’s not yours, how do you know these details? "I know Sasun; we can say we are friends." We asked for Sasun’s phone number, and he said he didn’t know, adding, "He calls me; I don’t call him." It turns out that Sasun used to be Londik’s employee as a driver and has taken on the role of manager of the household goods store at some point.
