Government Considers Citizens' Income Declaration Bill Urgent and Sends to National Assembly: Tunyan

On December 5, the Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly will discuss the draft law on the unified declaration of income. This was reported by the committee's vice president Babken Tunyan on his Facebook page.

Tunyan reminded that the government approved the package on 'Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia' and 'Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Armenia' during yesterday's session. According to the package, a universal income declaration system for individuals will be implemented in the Republic of Armenia.

'The government has considered the legislative initiative urgent and has submitted it to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with established procedures. It will be discussed at the special meeting of the Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs on December 5, and if it receives a positive conclusion, it will be reviewed in the first reading during the plenary session of the National Assembly starting on December 6,' Tunyan wrote.

He also noted that an operational discussion will be organized before the committee meeting, to which independent experts will be invited. Furthermore, parliamentary hearings will be organized during the period between the first and second readings. The system will be implemented in phases starting from 2023, with the first declarations to be filled out in early 2024. The package of drafts and justifications are presented on the e-gov.am website, under the government's agenda for the meeting on November 17 (item 34),' Tunyan added.
