Ksenia Sobchak Apologizes to Rostec CEO for Accomplices' Actions in Extortion Case
Journalist and TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak has apologized to Sergei Chemezov, the head of the Rostec state corporation, for the actions of her accomplices involved in an extortion case. This information was shared on her Telegram channel, according to RTVI.
"I sincerely regret that my colleagues' actions have harmed Sergei Viktorovich Chemezov, and I apologize to him," Sobchak wrote.
She emphasized that there is no "political subtext" in the extortion case and that three defendants—Kirill Sukhanov, Arjan Romanovsky, and Tamerlan Bigaev—face "serious charges".
"I know that the guys sincerely regret what has happened. Their fate will be decided by the court. I believe that the law enforcement agencies will show compassion and leniency," the journalist stressed.
It is reported that the investigators claim the three defendants extorted 11 million rubles from Chemezov in exchange for not disseminating negative information about him. They face up to 15 years in prison.
