China Will Not Be Able to Build a Better Army Than the U.S.
China currently poses the greatest geopolitical challenge to the United States, but Washington will not allow Beijing to take the lead in military superiority, stated General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This was reported by the Interfax news agency.
“China has the potential to become a significant challenge for the U.S., and they are, in essence, considering their demographics, technologies, economies, and other factors, already the greatest geopolitical challenge for the U.S.,” Milley said during a press conference. However, he noted that the U.S. “will not allow China to take the number one position from us in the defense sector.” He added that the Chinese will not succeed in doing so “neither in five years, nor in ten years, nor in fifteen years.”
“The U.S. is, without a doubt, the deadliest military force on the planet, despite any criticisms,” Milley emphasized. “The U.S. military is the ‘number one’ army, and we intend to remain ‘number one’,” he stated. In addition, Milley highlighted that China is actively developing its military capabilities, particularly in space and cyberspace. However, he said, “China will not be able to create a better army than that of the U.S., even though they will try to do so.”
