Who voted against the resolution adopted by the French Senate?
As expected, the only "no" vote on the Armenian resolution belongs to Natalya Gulen, a "scholar" of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Here she is, sitting in front of her boss Mehriban like a obedient student. Predictably, Natalya Gulen also did not support the Senate resolution on the recognition of Artsakh in 2020. This is reported by infoteka24.
Recall that yesterday the French Senate adopted a resolution imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, with 295 members voting in favor and 1 against.
The authors of the resolution are Bruno Retailleau, Patrick Kanner, Hervé Marseille, and Éliance Assassi.
The document proposes to consider the possibility of seizing the assets of Azerbaijan's leaders and imposing an embargo on gas and oil supplies. In addition, it demands the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijan from the occupied territories of Armenia.
The authors of the document cite Article 34-1 of the French Constitution (adopted on June 26, 1945), the United Nations Charter, the North Atlantic Treaty of April 4, 1949, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, which entered into force on January 4, 1969, the UN General Assembly's Resolution 60/1 dated September 16, 2005, as well as the trilateral declaration of November 9, 2020.
At the same time, the Senate calls on the government to discuss the establishment of a humanitarian office in Nagorno-Karabakh and to provide every possible support to Armenia, particularly in the defense sector.
The authors demand that the French government guarantee the security of the Armenian population and Armenia within internationally recognized borders, and propose deploying international forces in the region.
Senators affirm the necessity of recognizing the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, which could be used as a negotiating tool to establish lasting peace.
