Armen Ashotyan is at the Investigative Committee with his Lawyer
The Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, has been summoned to the Investigative Committee. He is currently at the IC with his lawyer, Tigran Atanesyan. Ashotyan informed journalists about this, stating: "I have already expressed everything regarding the political assessments; as for the legal evaluations, if there are any in this case, Mr. Atanesyan will inform you after this visit."
It is noteworthy that today at the "Zvartnots" airport, Armen Ashotyan was prohibited from leaving the country to attend the EPP Political Assembly in Lisbon. According to Ashotyan, the incident occurred for political reasons.
Armen Ashotyan has not been charged with any crime. The case relates to Yerevan State Medical University, where the former rector, Mikael Narimanyan, is a suspect. The case also involves the father of MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Vachik Saghatelyan.
In 2018, the State Oversight Service conducted an investigation at the mentioned university, after which the case was forwarded to the NSS, then to the former CCC, and has now been reopened and is under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee.
