Anahit Avanesyan on the Latest Incident of Violence Against a Doctor
Today, yet another incident of violence against a doctor occurred in Yerevan while the medical professional was fulfilling their duties. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, on her Facebook page: “I condemn what has happened and expect legal accountability,” wrote the minister.
As reported earlier, on November 16th, an incident occurred at one of the medical centers operating in Yerevan. Around 00:35, a group of individuals attacked a security guard of the Muratsan Medical Center in the Erebuni administrative district, striking him with their hands and glass bottles before entering the hospital and resorting to violence against a female doctor.
The security guard who was assaulted is a 22-year-old resident of Yerevan, referred to as F.M. He sustained lacerations to his forehead, head, temple, and occipital area. The individuals involved in the altercation numbered between 5 to 7, one of whom is identified as a 35-year-old resident of Yerevan, A.G.
These individuals also inflicted violence upon the doctor; however, her identity is currently withheld for investigative purposes.
A short time ago, footage was released showing how this group attacked the security guard and used violence against him.
