Soldier Dies En Route to Hospital: Details

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 155 of the RA Criminal Code within the Military Investigative Department's ninth garrison investigative division, aimed at clarifying all circumstances surrounding the murder of a serviceman by a fellow soldier.

According to preliminary data, on November 15, 2022, around 03:20, a conscript soldier at a combat position in the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense fired a burst from an AK-103 type rifle, resulting in the injury of the position commander, Private V. Hovsepyan, who succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

On the same day, the conscript soldier was arrested. An investigation is ongoing.

Notification: The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a legally valid court verdict.
