This is a Record Indicator: Gnel Sanosyan on Road Asphaltization

The political promise to repair 500 km of road has been exceeded. This was stated by Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, on his Facebook page.

“The Government of Armenia had planned to restore and repair 500 km of road for 2022. I would like to inform you that we already have an indicator exceeding 500 km (510-520 km). In terms of asphalted roads, this is a record indicator compared to all previous years, and it does not even include roads built with community resources and through subvention programs. If weather conditions permit, it will be possible to increase this number by the end of the year. This year, more than 288 km of road has undergone major repairs,” he wrote.

More than 145 km of interstate and republican roads have undergone medium repairs. And the works are still ongoing. Large-scale asphalt laying works have been carried out on the North-South Project Tranche-3, including the Talin-Gyumri segment and the M6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian border section. Roads have been repaired under the Critical Road Network Improvement Program.

“I am confident that this indicator will have an impact on the country’s economic development and the improvement of living standards of the population,” it is noted in the post.
