Why Erdogan Blames Biden
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused U.S. President Joe Biden of harboring Fethullah Gülen, the leader of the banned FETÖ organization, in Pennsylvania. Turkish authorities accuse Gülen, who resides in the U.S., of being involved in the failed coup attempt in July 2016 through his organization, which they label as FETÖ (Fethullah Terrorist Organization).
In the aftermath of the coup attempt in Turkey, over 80,000 individuals were arrested, and nearly 150,000 civil servants, including military personnel, were dismissed. Gülen himself, currently in the U.S., condemned the coup attempt and denied the allegations against him.
“So who is protecting them? Primarily Greece, they rush and show up in Greece, they rush and show up in Europe, they have always run there, they live in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, England, America. And the U.S. is hiding this man. Who is hiding him? Biden is hiding him. They have given this huge mansion in Pennsylvania where this man lives,” Erdogan told reporters on a plane after returning from Uzbekistan.
