Yes, Armenia Accepted in 2007 that Nagorno-Karabakh is Part of Azerbaijan, Pashinyan

Today, during a live broadcast on the public television station, a journalist asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the Armenian government's position, questioning whether Artsakh is part of Armenia and whether Armenia has long accepted that Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan.

The Prime Minister responded that in the current situation, if we want to avoid catastrophic consequences for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, then we should not fight against the whole world with that veto, because we cannot.

He stated that in 1996, the entire international community acknowledged that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be resolved within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. "Perhaps the problem is that we are not correctly framing the reality of the relationship. In reality, I say that the Republic of Armenia has also accepted that Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan. Yes, the Republic of Armenia recognized in 2007 that Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan. Ultimately, how long must we not recognize this?" Pashinyan declared.

He emphasized that perhaps all our problems stem from the fact that "we continue to not see this and do not want to see it."

“When we refer to the Almaty Declaration of 1991, do we know what we are talking about? Today, that document is part of our legislation. It was ratified by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia in February 1992. If I now say that I do not accept the Almaty Declaration, it would mean that I am saying I do not accept the legislation of the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.
