Aliyev's Confessional Speech Completely Contradicts Azerbaijan's Previous Official Statements
Azerbaijan has vociferously proclaimed at all levels that allegedly Armenia started the 44-day war, while Azerbaijan was merely responding. Now these 'brilliant' liars confess that the war was started by Azerbaijan. This has been the case during all instances of aggression. After the war, Azerbaijan has been the author and initiator of all border aggressions, although it has constantly attempted to blame Armenia for them.
Aliyev's confessional speech is exceptional in that it completely contradicts all of Azerbaijan's previous official statements. Azerbaijan is an aggressive state, and this fact has been openly acknowledged by Azerbaijan's president in his speeches.
Recently, Armenia's special envoy Edmon Marukyan made a Twitter post stating: 'Finally, he confessed. Azerbaijan's president Ilham Aliyev acknowledged in a 'magnificent' speech that his country started the Second Nagorno-Karabakh war, despite previously claiming otherwise, which is well-documented.'
We present Aliyev's declaration below: Despite the fact that two years have passed since the end of the war, Armenia continues its military provocations at the border. This was once again stated by Azerbaijan's aggressive president Ilham Aliyev.
During the 9th summit of the Turkic States Organization in Samarkand, President Ilham Aliyev contradicted himself in his statements: 'For the last time, in September, the armed forces of Azerbaijan were forced to undertake decisive counter-offensive actions to stop Armenia's military provocations. Armenia is trying to unfoundedly accuse Azerbaijan of military aggression to mislead global public opinion. We categorically reject these unfounded accusations. We fought on our lands and, by defeating the Armenian army, expelled them from our ancestral lands,' emphasized the aggressor.
