Suren Surenyan's Take on Trump's Disappointment
Political scientist Suren Surenyan has commented on the recent midterm elections in the United States. He notes, "The cause of Trump's disappointment is that the initial results from the midterm elections suggest that the House of Representatives will switch to Republican control, while Biden’s party will continue to hold the majority in the Senate.
Indeed, Republicans have posted good results, which, however, are far from being considered a significant success. At least, the Republican results are much more modest than what the sociological surveys indicated.
Moreover, Trump supporters have little reason to be optimistic, particularly because in the 2024 presidential election’s Republican primaries, Trump's potential competitor, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, has achieved a convincing victory among Republican governors.”
