Republicans Lead Nearly Twice as Much as Democrats in US Elections
In the US Congressional midterm elections, Republicans are currently leading Democrats by nearly double. This calculation has been reported by CNN.
It is reported that Republicans have preliminarily secured 93 of the 218 mandates needed to control the House of Representatives. According to the television network, Democrats have managed to obtain 49 mandates.
In the Senate, Republicans currently hold 39 mandates, while Democrats have 38. The upper chamber will remain under the governing party's jurisdiction if they can maintain 50 mandates. To defeat the Republicans, 51 mandates will be necessary.
It is mentioned that in the Senate voting process, if the votes are evenly divided, the casting vote of the Vice President of the United States plays a decisive role, a position currently held by Democratic Party representative Kamala Harris.
The US midterm elections began on November 8. It is noted that a significant portion of voters has already cast their ballots early, either by mail or by visiting special polling stations.
