Macron Calls for Nuclear Deterrence Topic Not to Be Monetized
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called for restraint regarding the monetization of discussions related to nuclear deterrence and threats, while opposing the public discussion of the topic. He made this statement during a conversation with French military personnel at the Toulon naval base.
“It is important to reiterate this, as discussions on this topic are fragmented, while a sober approach within the doctrine is necessary to maintain its reliability,” Macron said.
“We must not forget that France has nuclear deterrent capabilities, and there is no need to monetize certain statements,” Macron emphasized, pointing out that the presence of nuclear weapons in France contributes to the security of Europe.
Earlier, the French President advised on France 2 television to speak less about the nuclear threat and to focus more on creating conditions for the return of peace.
