Iran Condemns the Occupation of Azerbaijani Territories: Iranian Foreign Ministry
The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, stated during a press briefing that the resolution of issues in the Caucasus passes through the capitals of the regional countries, rather than relying on extraterritorial forces, according to Mehr news agency.
"The Islamic Republic has consistently emphasized the necessity of respecting each other's territorial integrity among neighbors. Iran condemns the occupation of Azerbaijani territories and supports the peaceful resolution of disputes among Caucasian countries in accordance with international law," Kanani said.
The Islamic Republic also reiterated its readiness to assist in resolving the existing issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia through various formats, including bilateral, trilateral, and the '3+3' cooperation mechanism, which includes Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan along with Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
