The authorities of Kyiv completely disconnected the city from electricity a week ago. Since October 10, the Russian military has been launching mass strikes on Kyiv's energy infrastructure. This is reported by the BBC.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has not ruled out the possibility that simultaneous outages of electricity, water, and heating could occur in the capital of Ukraine in the event of new attacks. A schedule for hourly power outages has already been implemented in Kyiv for energy conservation. Klitschko has also mentioned the potential for evacuating residents.

It has been noted that in recent weeks, the word "disconnected" has frequently been used by Kyiv residents. During this time, residents have been mentally informed about when power outages are expected.

A special website has even been created where residents can enter their address to find out when their home will lose power and when the electricity will be restored, although these schedules often do not correspond to reality.

Many in Kyiv have stopped using elevators. In some buildings, emergency kits have appeared. Cardboard boxes may contain simple food items, children's toys, drinking water, packs of calming medications for those who might experience claustrophobia, and empty plastic bottles for physiological needs.

The same applies to cooking. It has been noted that those with gas stoves are fortunate, as in the worst-case scenario, dinner might be prepared by candlelight. The dinner itself, of course, as well.
